Why mosaics?

Why mosaics? I started on this journey when I became less mobile after developing back problems. I attended a class run by Sue Leitch of WinterCreek Mosaics. Sue’s design ethic is very much what I wanted to create - she works in a lot of marble and smalti; I also like working in fused glass, slate and assorted Tasmanian minerals. These are areas we will explore in future blogs.

These numerical mosaics are my house numbers and were some of my very earliest work.
